“Oh, just hanging with my Bestie Bro…”
When 1 + 1 = Community
This is my happy blog place — celebrating accomplishments and community.
Wildflower Zeus and one of his humans, Penny, were in their first ever dog competition — Scentwork — and it went well, obviously! That is so wonderful but even more — Zeus is doing this because he teamed with his sister, Buttercup, to bring their humans together.
Penny shares, “Georgia's mentoring has made all the difference in my life. With her help, I'm continuing to grow and learn and find new ways to engage with Zeus that I never dreamed I was capable of.”
There are many ways for a dog to have an interesting life and to develop a close bond with a human but I am partial — I think a positive training relationship offers incredible benefits to dogs and humans, and Penny’s words capture that for me.
We need to acknowledge and honor Team Buttercup, who welcomed Team Zeus into the Berner Community. Georgia is a trainer, and her skills with people and dogs are bringing out the best in this Wildflower team. I am so very grateful to Patty and Georgia for the kind support and friendship they have offered to Team Zeus.
Team Buttercup also participated in the Scentwork trial…
Well done, Team Buttercup!
Team Zeus and Team Buttercup — you all ROCK. Thank you.
Round-Up
Capella won her class yesterday and had fun. The judge observed that Capella did the go around the fastest of any of the dogs that had been in the ring thus far, and wondered if Capella thought it was a race?
Isn’t it wonderful that she has such happy puppy energy in the show ring?!
The really awesome news from the show is that Moonshadow Daddy, Pippin, finished his Championship. He seriously looked amazing — what a lovely dog with flawless movement and a fantastic temperament. That made him a BMDCA Versatility Dog — we send our congratulations to his humans. Strong Work, Team Pippin!
And speaking of strong work and Moonshadows, Mike and Patty — first time Berner owners — got themselves some thinning shears and attacked Porter’s ears!
And okay, yes — apparently they also attacked Mike’s finger — but that will heal!
I was so proud when I got that photo — thank you so much to Mike and Patty for embracing Life with a Berner. Great Job, Team Porter (except the finger part, of course!).
Half-brother to the Moonshadows is Wildflower, Kitsap…
SO handsome! Thanks to Bridget for keeping me in updates and photos. #gratitude
Too cool for school is Bright Star Atlas…
