Bright Star Birthday Celebration Continues

Today we have an update from our very own Supermodel, Sage. Yes, indeed — we have a famous dog model in the family 🤩

Here are a couple things he did for PetSmart in 2024.

Kay and Sue send us this birthday update:

“Happy birthday Bright Stars from Sage and friends in sunny Arizona. Sage is enjoying the cool winter weather even without snow. He’s a jolly puppy who likes to run, jump and retrieve his ball.

Sage is always up for a ride especially when he can get some extra pets from the people he meets. He’s a fun dog with an enthusiastic attitude and willingness to work, especially on our draft and obedience training.

In short, he’s an excellent companion not only for us but also for his uncle Lucas. Thank you, Mary-Ann!”

The Birthday Celebrations Begin!

Four years ago today Baby Bright Stars arrived.

Such a special litter to me for so many reasons ❤️ My beloved Claire’s only litter and with the Rock Star, Ferguson. Wow. I look forward to catching up with all ten over the next few days.

I am not really surprised that this birthday is a hard one for me, even as I am so grateful to be able to celebrate it. I want to hug every Bright Star right now — as if through them, I will feel Claire again.

I am so glad that she left behind all these beautiful and bright baby stars.

Whine? Yes, please.

Between 4:15 am and 4:45 am, the whining starts.

There is no snooze button.

Harper B is a reliable and effective alarm clock.

You cannot really ignore a whining dog. What if this is the one time she really needs to go out? What if she can’t get up?

This morning the whining started at about 4:30 am.

I did what I always do — I got up.

Happily — and not just because I am a morning person.

Because I know all too well that one day the morning will be silent.

But not today — and isn’t that amazing?! I get to wake up to a 13+ year old Berner — how incredibly fortunate am I?
