I am so happy and impressed to share this fun news.
Bright Star Zuber and his humans teamed up with Lindy and her humans (the Atkinsons) to complete the requirements for the two dogs to earn Grand Master Draft Dog awards.
That is a Big Deal.
This is from the BMDCA Draft Regulations:
“The following titles are earned after passing the respective class five (5) times under at least seven (7) different judges:
• Advanced Novice Draft Dog (ANDD) in Novice Draft.
• Master Draft Dog (MDD) in Open Draft.
• Advanced Brace Novice Draft Dog (ABNDD) in Brace Novice Draft.
• Master Brace Draft Dog (MBDD) in Brace Open Draft.
Grand Master Draft Dog (GMDD) Title is earned when both the two (2) Advanced titles and the two (2) Master titles are earned.
In other words, the dogs have to pass a total of 20 times with a specific number of different judges. Since draft tests are not typically close to home, this involves a considerable investment of time, travel, and strategy — in addition to all the training and conditioning involved.
It is especially impressive to me that the two dogs are owned by two different families, thereby reflecting a high level of human cooperation and teamwork as well ❤️
Congratulations to the two new Grand Master Draft Dogs and their equally awesome and talented human team 🎉
