I was going to write about how dogs are so resilient — and they are!
Sparkle this morning 🙏
But so are humans ❤️
Maybe the difference is that it doesn’t occur to a dog to feel sorry for herself.

A dog just deals with what is.
She can sit again!
They make the necessary adjustments and move on.
We can learn a lot from a dog 💖

We made it back to Boise today without incident 🙏
Sparkle is doing well and seems comfortable 🩷
I just picked Sparkle up.
She is now resting comfortably.
And yes, it is jarring to see just one hind leg where there should be two.
The mystery of the sick leg has deepened. Instead of the muscles in Sparkle’s leg being a healthy red, they were tan, per our veterinarian. She described this as “highly unusual.” She has sent muscle along with bone to be biopsied.
I am glad it is done and we can move on to recovery.
