A Weekend in Boise, Improvised

I am in Boise for Daisy’s adventures but since I have had contact with humans through the veterinarian visits, I cannot see the family. Sigh. I will be so glad when this pandemic is done — for so many reasons.

And so we improvised.

When Galen was growing up, we established a tradition of getting cocoa and then driving around to look at Christmas lights — just the two of us. Last night we did a modified version — his little family in one car and me in my car. Connected through our phones/bluetooth/speakers, we did the drive-up at Starbucks for the requisite beverages and then did a caravan looking at lights — and talking.

Pandemic Life requires flexibility and creativity. We can bemoan what is lost AND come up with ideas to make the best of it. All feelings and experiences have value. I wish I could hugs those kids AND it was great fun.

I made sure to get a hotel room near an exit and one that was empty the night before my arrival. It has a kitchen, and I brought my sanitizing wipes and my own bedding, which was probably overkill but it also prevents worry about dog hair on their sheets. Pozy and Daisy are along for this trip…

I hope you have a wonderful Sunday, improvising as necessary to make it so.
