The eight days of shows are done.
Yes, Capella earned a lot of ribbons and some points but more important are the skills she mastered.
Capella hops right in the tub now and seems perfectly happy to have baths, which is good as I do a lot of baths when I show a dog…
Blow drying was the hardest part of being a Show Puppy but I took it slow and easy. Now she jumps happily on the grooming table and the blow dryer is easy peasy for her…
The bum shammy helps keep the puppy waves a bit flatter. At first she was scared of it but again — slow and easy did the trick, and now she thinks it is her magic cape.
Capella quickly worked through new and loud buildings, grabby people, being frisked by judges, showing off her teeth, crazy looking dogs, barking and lunging dogs, looking ahead while gaiting, free stacking, and so on. Those eight days were like Show Dog Immersion School and Capella earned an A+ and a big and bright gold star. She is a natural — how cool is that?
SO fun.
