It has been an eventful time for the past several weeks — you can read about some of it HERE.
In addition to all the legal stuff, one of my feral kittens has been diagnosed with life-ending FIP and I have plunged into the underground world of FIP treatment.
It turns out FIP doesn’t have to be a death sentence. You can learn more about that HERE and HERE.
I made the decision to treat Nikki. Yes, it is expensive and involves joining an underground network. And yes, she is a feral rescue.
But so much of life has felt out of my control for the past 2.5 years. It has been loss after loss after loss. I just do not want to lose another piece of my life right now, if I can avoid it.
And so I made a very intentional choice to treat this cat. Like so many of my choices over the past 2.5 years, it was made — at least in part — because it supports my well-being.
But I also carefully considered the impact of treatment on Nikki.
I found a research article from UC Davis that described using pills to treat (vs. injections). Although more expensive, we are doing the pills because daily injections would be too burdensome for this cat, given her feral nature.
I spent a few days weighing the decision and once made, I had the medication in hand within 12 hours. And just in case I doubted my decision, the Universe sent along a sign — the medication is called...

I did a very quick trip to Boise recently — literally I was in town for 18 hours! Long enough to visit these two, seen here with Harper B for Been to Boise.

Suzanne and I attended a Scent Work seminar earlier this month and so I am adding that new sport to my repertoire. FUN.
Tracking season is about to start up.
Specialty planning is happening.
Dare I say it — all dogs are healthy and well 🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀
I am updating and repairing the house — MY HOUSE, fyi 🎉 — new flooring went in recently and there has been painting involved.
And so on.
All good stuff.
