I have been asked for my address three times recently. It is a strange thing to admit that I do not have an address — and even stranger to observe the reactions of others to that information. Apparently, I do not look like a person without a home.
How I have chosen to spend my brief foray in being unhoused is telling. I spent four days at a dog show in a place where I could also visit people who have been included as “family” during my life followed by three days at Odell Lake, where my oldest son is a manager.
My son-in-law, Doug, is also working here this summer and my oldest grandson, Kai, came up from California to round out the family fun.
This is my cabin, seen from the boat.
We had a rather random adventure yesterday. From the boat we saw a teepee and Dear Son decided we should investigate. We docked the boat and managed to get to shore without any of us falling into the lake or the boat floating away.
We found a trail and followed it around to the point where the teepee was located.
In spite of seeing it up close, that teepee is still a mystery.
Adding to the mystery — this memorial was also there.
And then we found this structure.
Mind you — this is the middle of no where and there are no roads to this place. We had fun guessing what it could be.
A loo?! So random 😬
The dogs are having a wonderful time.
And so am I ❤️
